Once Jaime experienced what it was like to feel good - to truly live an active life and not feel damaged - she became determined to harness that positive energy and help others achieve it as well. In her words, "If each exercise is like a piece of a puzzle, I'm driven to help my clients fit them all together to realize the full expression of Pilates. I want my clients to feel good, both in mind and in body, and to experience how it feels for their bodies to work they were made to. After all, our bodies should carry us through life. We shouldn't carry our bodies."
In 2019, Jaime's passion for Pilates led her to achieve a position on the faculty with Rebel Pilates Collective. Now she brings her contagious laugh and witty, yet nurturing personality to both practitioners of Pilates, as well as those aspiring to become certified in a practice that changes lives.
Just as Joseph Pilates said, "Every moment of our lives can be the beginning of great things." So it's no wonder that a difficult moment in Jaime's life was the start of a deep love for a great thing.
An athlete at heart and a native Texan, Jaime grew up playing a wide range of sports, from softball to gymnastics to lacrosse. Her interest in the science behind proper body movement and alignment led her to earn a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Houston. When a torn ACL required her to take a step back from the activities she loved, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to be closer to family. It was here that she discovered her love for Pilates, and her inner athletic fire was reignited and continues burning strong.
Pilates gave her that same sense of prowess that sports like gymnastics once gave her, but importantly, she could move her body in the absence of pain. Jaime obtained the Synergy Pilates Certification, Freedom Method Pilates Certification, and then realized her dream of opening her own studio. Flying Squirrel Pilates continues to be recognized as the best Pilates Studio in Milwaukee since 2013.

She started taking classes with Jaime at Flying Squirrel Pilates years ago and never looked back. It was the first workout class that stuck and made her feel connected to her body. When the opportunity arose to train to become an instructor, she jumped at the chance.
She is classically trained through Rebel Pilates Collective, formally Pure Body Teacher Training. Marissa began teaching in 2021 and loves being a part of the Flying Squirrel family! Her favorite part about being a pilates instructor is creating a bond with clients and watching them learn and grow over time.
